Major Skype outage

skype

I’ve been having trouble with skype for the past few hours. I can log in to skype, make a call but when I key in my meeting number it does not go through. I keep getting errors saying “no key was entered”. The DMTF tones are not going through. Sigh… I had to go back to my land line with no headphones or speaker phone capabilities.

Apparently Skype is experience some major issues within it’s network which is going to take them 12-24 hours to rectify. Skype has posted a notice regarding the outage. See notice here.

Well Cliff, technology is wonderful. If it wasn’t of it you & me won’t be posing comments or downloading torrents now would we?

I love my land line but it’s not as practical and cost effective when compared to using Voip solution.

I’m Malaysia so imagine my call charges..

Yep, and also our land lines in South East Asia cost the bomb, especially when we want to make calls overseas, and that’s where modern technology comes in. It’s just cost effective and anyone not taking advantage of this tool may want to wise up.

I was just reading in the papers today about a village here that has never had electricity for the past 44 years.

Sad man, we are celebrating our 50th independence day soon and we even have the world’s tallest twin tower but somewhere out there is a village with no electricity. wonder if they have broadband?
